Up and Coming Thursday

Hey all! So it's a new day and a new feature for my blog. Today is Up and Coming Thursday. I picked a band that I had not heard of until about a month and a half ago. I saw a video post about them at AbsolutePunk. To say I was impressed was the least of it! I present to you: Transit

Transit is a band from Boston, MA. I guess you would call them a pop punk band. When I first heard them, I was brought back to time in my life when I was discovering the bands I knew would be my in my life forever. I got that same feeling with Transit. There is something so comforting I find in their music. So, as soon as I heard their music, I downloaded any music by them that I could get my hands on. Let me just say, I love this band. I wouldn't necessarily put them in my top 10, but it makes me happy that there are still bands out there making the kind of music I absolutely love. Anyways, here is a new song by them. They have new record coming out on October 4th. I am so excited. Enjoy!

YouTube Wednesday

Hello all! So I've actually planned out specific posts for every day, almost. I will probably be doing random posts through out, but today is YouTube Wednesday! What is does this mean? It means that every Wednesday, I will post 3-5 of my favorite YouTube videos of the week. These will most likely be music videos, covers, original from youtube artists, and things of that nature. Let's just get started!

1. Kina Grannis & AJ Rafael - You Can Close Your Eyes (James Taylor Cover)

I've watched this video multiple times ever since it landed in my subscription box. It has three things I love. James Taylor, Kina Grannis, and AJ Rafael. My love for James Taylor goes back to the days of my young childhood. My dad used to put his records on (still does). I was too young to fully comprehend the music I was listening to, but as I got older, my appreciation for true, beautiful music flourished. I like to believe that my love for acoustic pop and folk came from listening to James Taylor. Kina Grannis just has a beautiful voice as does AJ, but the song itself is so wonderful and bittersweet. Highly recommended.

2. Pink - Glitter in the Air (Live Grammy's Performance)

So, I think this is one of my favorite YouTube videos of all time. The song is so simple, but it has this depth to it that I absolutely love. The fact that she doesn't lip synch only serves as a testament to the artist that she is. You can't watch this and not be impressed.

3. Sam Tsui - King of Anything (Sara Bareilles Cover)

This is just cute. It always puts a smile on my face. I also love the acapella aspect of it. Actually I love acapella anything.

So this was YouTube Wednesday! If you come across this post, I hope you stick around and follow my blog. Comment and spread the music love. :) Tomorrow is Up and Coming Thursday where I highlight an unknown/new/underrated/etcetcetc band or artist whom I'm absolutely LOVING!

Introduction Post 2.0

Hello all! I had a introduction post here for a bit, but as I kept this blog open, I was not happy about it being focused only on fashion and style. I love fashion and style, but my first love has always been music. So I decided not to put my blog in one little corner. If you happen to keep up with this blog, you're just gonna see posts of music, videos, reviews, street style photos, etc. Soooooo, I hope you stick around. Feel free to follow, but I'm really happy about where this blog is heading.

Since this is an intro post, I should definitely introduce myself. My name is Jillian. I'm a senior nursing student. I'm graduating in about 5 months or about 122 days according to my friend lol. I'm very happy with where my academic career is going and when my real life career is beginning. Like any other person on the verge of starting a new chapter of their life, I am stressed and scared. What do I love to do when I'm stressed out? Listen to my favorite music, find new bands, and look at fashion blogs and street style (other than the typical spend time with fam and friends). So here I am, coming back to this blog for a millionth time ready to rec, review, praise, gush, and sometimes hate on my favorite subject of all: MUSIC!

Stay tuned shortly for my first post!!
